Solution

The solution is as follows:

FeCl2: ratio of Fe : Cl is 1:2

Thus, in 45.3 g of FeCl3

FeCl=x45.3-x12=x45.3-x2x = 45.3-x3x=45.3x =15.1 gand in FeCl3:FeCl=x58.04-x13=x58.04-xx = 14.51

This verifies law of multiple proportions.
