The correct option is
B Connective tissue
Connective tissues are binding and packing tissues. They connect and support all other tissues of the body. These are mainly made up of cells, fibres and matrix. Depending on the type of matrix , the connective tissue is divided into three types, connective tissue proper, supportive connective tissue and fluid connective tissue.
In connective tissue proper, the matrix varies from the fluid-like to the gel-like state. It contains four types of cells, namely fibroblasts, macrophages, mast cells and fat cells. Three types of fibres present in it are white, yellow and reticular fibres.
Fibroblasts are a spindle or star-shaped cells. These are responsible for the formation of fibres and matrix. They synthesise collagen and elastin proteins.
Macrophages are large, amoeboid-shaped with a kidney-shaped nucleus. They engulf damaged cell tissues, microbes and foreign particles.
Mast cells are large, oval cells with a granular cytoplasm. They secrete heparin (anticoagulant), histamine (inflammatory cells) and serotonin (vasoconstrictor).
Thus, the correct answer is option B.
