Adrenaline (epinephrine) and noradrenaline (norepinephrine) is secreted by the adrenal medulla of the adrenal gland.
These hormones are commonly called as 'emergency hormone' or 3F-hormone (For fear, fight and flight).
Its secretion is regulated by the sympathetic nervous system and not by pituitary gland, as in the case of adrenal cortex.
Secretion of these hormones increases the alertness, pupillary dilation, piloerection (raising of hairs), sweating, the heartbeat and the strength of heart contraction and the rate of respiration.
