speed 50 cm s1. Sketch the shape of the string at t = 4 ms, 6 ms, 8 ms, and 12 ms.

The distance travelled by the pulses are shown below.

t=4 ms=4×103s,

s=vt=50×102×4×103

=2 mm

t=8 ms=8×103s,

s=vt=50×102×8×103

=4 mm

t=6 ms=6×103s,

s=50×102×6×103

=3 mm

t=12 ms

=12×103s,

s=50×102×12×103

=6 mm
