Solution
1. Photosynthesis -
Plants produce their own food through the process of photosynthesis. During photosynthesis, plants trap energy from the sun and with the help of water and carbon dioxide they make their own food. This is why plants are called autotrophs.
2. Exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide -
Plants take in the carbon dioxide released by the animals. Oxygen is being given out by plants during photosynthesis. This oxygen is consumed by animals during breathing.
3. Decomposition -
The dead animal matter degrades and goes deep into the soil, and transforms into nutrients, making the soil fertile. This allows plants to grow well.
Decomposition is a process of degradation of decaying matter into simpler nutrients.
Decomposers like bacteria and fungi feed on the remains of dead and decaying matter and derive nutrients from them.
