Applying conservation of mechanical energy,

v=(k(x20x2)m)

From the definition, Power P=Fv

P=kx(k(x20x2)m) ......(1)

To find the maximum power, Let us differentiate the above equation w.r.t x and equate dPdx to zero.

2PdPdx=2k2x20xm4k2x3m

x(x202x2)=0

x=0 or x=x02

Substituting this value in (1) we get,
