Figure shows four cells fixed on a board. Draw lines to indicate how you will connect their terminals with wires to make a battery of four cells.

Current always flows from the positive terminal to the negative terminal of the battery. So in order to make the given cell a battery, the negative terminal of the first cell should be connected to positive terminal of the second cell and so on. So the terminals of the battery will be the positive end of the first cell and negative end of the last cell.
