Figure shows the graph of the x-coordinate of a particle going along the X-axis as a function of time. Find

(a) The average velocity during 0 to 10 s,

(b) Instantaneous velocity at 2, 5, 8 and 12s

(a) Displacement in 0 to 10 sec is 100 m

time =10 sec

Vav=st=10010=10ms

(b) Uniform velocity at which it is moving at 2.5 sec

==\frac{50}{25}=20\frac{\text{m}}{\text{s}}\\
At 2.5 sec,Vinst= 20ms
At 5 sec, it is at rest, thus
Vinst=zero

At 8 sec it is moving with uniform velocity 20ms

At 12 sec, velocity is-ve as it moves towards position.

Vinst=-20ms
