Figure shows the graph of x coordinate of a particle moving along x axis as a function of time. Average velocity during t=0 to 6s and instantaneous velocity during t=3s respectively, will be :

Let the total displacement 0s to 6s is D and the time is t.

The average velocity from 0s to 6s is given as,

vavg=Dt

=10+0+10206

=0m/s

Since, the instantaneous velocity at a time is equal to the slope of velocity time graph at that time.

The instantaneous velocity at 3s is given as,

vi=0

Thus, the average velocity from 0s to 6s is 0m/s and the instantaneous velocity at 3s is 0m/s.
