  1. Filaria is a threadlike parasitic nematode worm that is spread by the biting of mosquitoes and causes filariasis and different diseases.
  2. It is transmitted from individual to individual through mosquito bites.
  3. When a mosquito bites lymphatic filariasis, worms present in human blood enter the mosquito and infect it.
  4. When this mosquito bites other individuals then worms go into the lymph vessels of humans.
