Transpose $3$ on RHS
$2 x = 5 - 3 2 x = 2 x = \frac{2}{2}$
$∴ x = 1$
Step 2: Find the value of $3 x + 2$
$3 x + 2 = 3 (1) + 2 = 3 + 2 = 5$
Hence the value of $3 x + 2$ is $5$
