Solution

(i) Volume of a cube of side a,V=a3
Given : Side length a=1 cm

We know that 1 cm=102m
Hence, volume of a cube, V=(102m)3=106m3

(ii) Total surface area(S) = Surface area of two caps + Curved surface area
Given : Radius- r=2 cm , Height- h=10 cm

Surface area of two caps =2πr2
Surface area of curved surface =2πrh
Total surface area (s)=2πr2+2πrh

S=2πr2+2πrh2π(r+h)
S=2×227×20(20+100)mm2
S=15086 mm2=1.5086×104 mm2

(iii) Given : speed- v=18 kmh1, Time- t=1 s
v=18 kmh1=18×1000 m3600 s
Formula : x=vt
=5×1=5m

(iv)Given : Relative density of lead - 11.3
We know that : density of water =1 gcm3

Formula: Relative density of lead = density of leaddensity of water

density of lead = relative density of lead× density of water
=11.3×1 gcm3=11.3 gcm3

In S.I. System: density of water =103 kgm3
density of lead = relative density of lead× density of water
=11.3×103kgm3
=1.3×104kgm3
