The correct option is C 55S
Ribosomes are naked ribonucleoprotein particles which are made up of RNA and proteins. Prokaryotes have 70S type of ribosomes while eukaryotes have 80S type of ribosomes in their cytoplasm. Eukaryotes also have ribosomes in their organelles for example, inside mitochondria and chloroplasts and on the surface of rough endoplasmic reticulum. The organelle ribosomes resemble prokaryotic ribosomes. However, mammalian mitochondrial ribosomes (55S) differ from bacterial (70S) and cytoplasmic ribosomes (80S), as well as other kinds of mitochondrial ribosomes. These ribosomes resemble bacterial ribosomes and cytoplasmic ribosomes in their main functional properties but in terms of fine structure and physiochemical properties, they differ unexpectedly from both this kind of ribosomes.
