As we know that, two angles are said to be complementary angles if they add up to $90°$. As shown in the figure below :

Now, as per the question :

The sum of $\angle AOE$ and $\angle DOE$ is $90°$.( i.e. $\angle AOE+\angle DOE=\angle AOD=90°$) ($\because$$\angle AOB=\angle AOD=90°$)

Hence $\angle AOE$ and $\angle DOE$ are complementary angles.
