  1. The central nervous system comprises the brain and the spinal cord. They are encased in a body case called the skull and the vertebral column. Within this case, these organs are covered with a coat of connective tissue called the meninges.
  2. The meninges is made of three membranes- the outer dura mater, the middle arachnoid mater, and the inner pia mater.
