Solution

Let the number of coins of Rs. 5 = x
Then, number of coins of Rs. 2 = x

(a) Number of coins of Rs. 5 = x
So, the worth x coins of Rs.5 = Rs.5×x=Rs.5x

(b) Similarly, the worth of Rs. 2 of x coins = Rs. 2x

(c) It is given that, combined value/worth of Rs. 5 and Rs. 2 coins is Rs. 70.
So, the equation formed is
Worth of Rs. 5 coins + Worth of Rs. 2 coins = Rs. 70
5x+2x=70

(d) Solve the equation of x,
5x + 2x = 70
7x=70x=10
Hence, there are 10, Rs. 5 coins and 10, Rs. 2 coins.
