Solution

(a) intestinal: The complete digestion of food takes place in the small intestine. The digestion of all the food components such as carbohydrates, proteins and fats are completed by the intestinal juices present in the small intestine. The carbohydrates get broken into simple sugars such as glucose, fats into fatty acids and glycerol, and proteins into amino acids.

(b) water, salts: The large intestine absorbs water and salts from the undigested food. The remaining waste passes into the rectum and remains there as semi-solid faeces.

(c) back, front: The tongue is a fleshy muscular organ, present in the mouth. It mixes the food with saliva, helps in swallowing and tasting the food.

(d) pseudopodia, vacuole: Amoeba feeds on microscopic organisms. When it senses the food particles, it pushes out pseudopodia around the food particle and engulfs it. The food particle is then trapped in the food vacuole and gets digested there.
