Solution

The proton is positively charged, electron is negatively charged and neutron has no charge.

James Chadwick in 1932 bombarded a thin foil of beryllium with fast-moving alpha particles and observed that highly penetrating rays consisting of neutral particles were formed. These neutral particles were found to have a mass which is equal to that of a hydrogen atom. Neutrons are present in the nucleus.
