Solution
Metallic character:
The metallic character of an element is defined as how easily it can lose its electrons.
It shows the reactivity of the metal, if the metallic character is high then the metal is reactive and easily it can lose the electrons.
The metallic character of an element decreases while moving from left to right across a period.
While moving from left to right in a period, the number of electrons and protons in an atom increases so this causes an increase in nuclear force by the nucleus on the electrons, and hence losing electrons becomes difficult that's why if we move from left to right then the metallic character decreases and non-metallic character of an element increases.
So, the Metallic character decreases as we move from left to right in a period.
