Solution

The correct option is C A – 1960s, B – Green revolution

Green revolution was a period of agricultural advancement in which modern methods and technology were employed such as utilization of high yielding varieties, use of heavy machinery, pesticides and fertilizers for the enhancement of food production.

The Green revolution was initiated by Nobel Laureate Dr Norman E. Borlaug in Mexico during the 1950s. He had developed semi dwarf wheat at the International Centre for Wheat and Maize Improvement in Mexico. After watching tremendous success of green revolution in Mexico, India approached Dr Borlaug to launch green revolution in India. After a series of discussions, green revolution was launched in India by Ministry of Agriculture during 1960s.
