Question

Fill in the blanks with the appropriate words.
F1-F0 particles participate in the synthesis of ..........

Open in App
Solution

  • F1-F0 particles participate in the synthesis of ATP (Adenine Dinucleotide Diphosphate).
  • This complex V which is a part of oxidative phosphorylation is present on the inner membrane of mitochondria where the head piece is the F1 and the F0 is integrated in the membrane.
  • The elctron in the electron transport chain pass through this complex and are used in the synthesis of energy via production of ATP in presence of enzyme ATP synthase.
  • As one electron passes from the inner mitochondrial membrane to the out side of it (that is between the inner and the outer mitochondrial membrane) through the F1-F0 it provides the energy for synthesis of ATP from ADP and inorganic P.
  • Therefore the answer in the blank is to be ATP.
