Question

Find a quadratic polynomial whose zeros are 3 and 73.

Open in App
Solution

It is given that 3 and 73 are the zeros of the polynomial, so,

α=3 and β=73

The quadratic equation is of the form,

x2(α+β)x+αβ=0

x2(373)x+(3)(73)=0

x2(373)x+7=0

x2+103x+7=0

3x2+10x+73=0

Therefore, the required quadratic polynomial is 3x2+10x+73=0.
