Solution

Say the Marked Price be Rs. 100 and d1 = 10 %, d2 = 20 % and d3 = 20 %
S.P = (100d1100)×(100d2100)×(100d3100)×M.P
= (10010100)×(10020100)×(10020100)× 100
= (90100)×(80100)×(80100)×100
= (5761000)×100
= Rs. 57.6
The single equivalant discount = M.P - S.P = Rs. 100 - Rs. 57.6 = Rs. 42.4
single equivalent discount %
= (singleequivalentdiscountM.P)=42.4100= 42.4 %
Ans = 42.4 %
