Open in App
Solution

Find and correct errors in the given statement:

An equation is a mathematical expression of equality between two algebraic expressions that have equal values.

Given, 4(x-5)=4x-5

On solving L.H.S, we get,

=4(x-5)=4x-4(5)=4x-20

But, it is given that R.H.S =4x-5

Thus, L.H .S. R.H.S.

So, for correct statement we need to replace -5with-20 in RHS

Hence, the correct statement is 4(x-5)=4x-20.
