Open in App
Solution

Find and correct errors in the given statement:

An equation is a mathematical expression of equality between two algebraic expressions that have equal values.

Given, 5y+2y+y-7y=0

On solving L.H.S, we get,

=5y+2y+y-7y=(5y+2y+y)-7y=8y-7y=y

But, it is given that R.H.S =0

Thus, L.H .S. R.H.S.

So, for correct statement we need to replace 0withyinRHS.

Hence, the correct statement is 5y+2y+y-7y=y.
