Solution

Find and correct errors in the given statement:

An equation is a mathematical expression of equality between two algebraic expressions that have equal values.

Given, (2a+3b)(a-b)=2a2-3b2

On solving L.H.S, we get,

=(2a+3b)(a-b)=2a(a-b)+3b(a-b)=2a2-2ab+3ab-3b2=2a2+ab-3b2

But, it is given that R.H.S =2a2-3b2

Thus, L.H .S. R.H.S.

So,for correct statement we need to add +ab in RHS.

Hence, the correct statement is (2a+3b)(a-b)=2a2+ab-3b2.
