Find equation of a line whose $x$ -intercept is $- 3$ and which is perpendicular to the line $3 x + 5 y - 8 = 0$ .

Given $x$ intercept $= - 3$
point $= (- 3, 0)$
Since the line is perpendicular to $3 x + 5 y - 8 = 0$
Slope $= \frac{5}{3}$
Equation of line $y - 0 = \frac{5}{3} (x + 3)$
Thus, $3 y = 5 x + 15$ is the required equation of the line.
