Solution

Find first five common multiples of given numbers:

Multiple of a given number is a number obtained by multiplying it by an integer.

Taking the positive integers 1,2,3,4,5.... and multiplying them with the given numbers, we can obtain the first five common multiples as:

The multiples of 12 are: 12,24,36,48,60,72,84,96,108,120,132,144,156,168,180,192,204...

The multiples of 15 are: 15,30,45,60,75,90,105,120,135,150,165,180,195,210,225,240,255,270,285,300,315...

From the above multiples, we find the first five common multiples of 12 and 15 as 60,120,180,240 and 300.

Hence, 60,120,180,240 and 300 are the first five common multiples of 12 and 15.
