i) 2 g of nitrogen. ii) 23 g of sodium iii) 40 g of calcium. iv) 1.4 of lithium v) 32 g of sulphur

Open in App
Solution

(i) Nitrogen exists as diatomic molecule N2
Moles of atoms of N=2× moles of N2
=2×214×2=0.142 mole
(ii) Sodium is monoatomic
Moles of Na atoms= moles of Na present
=2323=1 moles
(iii) Calcium is monoatomic
Moles of Ca atoms= 4040=1 moles
(iv) Lithium is monoatomic
Moles of Li atom= 1.47=0.2 mole
(v) Sulphur exists as S8 molecule
Moles of atoms of S=8× moles of S8=8×3232×8=1 mole.
