Solution

(a) Explicit Cost = Interest on borrowing + Wages paid during the year + Annual depreciation
=Rs.180 thousand+Rs.120 thousand+Rs.100 thousand
=Rs.400 thousand
(b) Implicit Cost = Imputed interest on own investment + Annual rental value + Estimated annual value of the management services
=Rs.60 thousand+Rs.180 thousand+Rs.240 thousand
=Rs.480 thousand
(a) Explicit Cost =Rs.400 thousand.
(b) Implicit Cost =Rs.480 thousand.
ast We assume that the investor has withdrawn Rs.500 thousand (Rs.2,000 thousandRs.1,500 thousand) from his bank thereby losing 12% interest (i.e., 12% of Rs.500 thousand=Rs.60 thousand).
