The chemical equation for the decomposition of CaCO3 can be written as:
CaCO3CaO+CO2
100 g of CaCO3 burns completely to produce 56 g of CaO.
75 g of CaCO3 burns completely to produce = 56100×75 =42 g of CaO.
Therefore, loss of weight of CaCO3 =7542=33 g
