a) Molecular mass of Ca(NO3)2 = Atomic mass of Ca + 2 ×Atomic mass of N + 6 ×Atomic mass of O
= 40 + 2 ×14 + 6 ×16
= 164 u

b) Molecular mass of C12H22O11 = 12 × Atomic mass of C + 22×Atomic mass of H + 11×Atomic mass of O
= 12 ×12 + 22 ×1 + 11 ×16
= 342 u
