Find p(0),p(1) and p(2) for the following polynomial: p(x)=x3

Open in App
Solution

Step 1. Define a Polynomial

A polynomial is an algebraic expression in which the exponent on any variable is a whole number. Polynomial’s degree is the highest or the greatest power of a variable in a polynomial equation. The degree indicates the highest exponential power in the polynomial.

Step 2. Find the required values

Given equation p(x)=x3

Put the value p(0) in the given equation

p(0)=03=0

p(0)=0

Put the value p(1) in the given equation

p(1)=13=1p(1)=1

Put the value p(2) in the given equation

p(2)=23=8

p(2)=8

Hence, p(0)=0, p(1)=1 and p(2)=8
