Question

Find T10 in 17,14,1,........

Open in App
Solution

It is given that T1=17, T2=14 and T3=1, therefore, the reciprocals are the terms in A.P that are:

T1=7, T2=4 and T3=1

We know that the formula for the nth term of an A.P is Tn=a+(n1)d, where a is the first term, d is the common difference.

Here, the first term a=7, the common difference d=47=3 and n=10, therefore,

T10=7+(101)(3)=7+(9×3)=727=20

Thus, the 10th term of H.P is T10=120.
