Question

Find the amount of water displaced by a solid spherical ball of diameter (Assume π=227): 28cm

Open in App
Solution

Evaluate the volume of the spherical ball

Amount of water displaced by an object when it sinks is equal to the volume of the object.

We know that, Volume of the sphere =43πr3

Given, diameter=28cm.

So, radius (r) =14cm

The required volume will be,

V=43πr3V=43×227×(14)3V=344963cm3

Therefore, the water displaced by the solid spherical ball is, 344963cm3
