We find the square root of 3.11 up to 3 decimal places.
Thus the square root of $\sqrt{3.11}$ to 3 decimal places is 1.763. We observe
$(1.763)^{2} = 3.108169 < 3.11 < 3.111696 = (1.764)^{2}$
Thus, 1.763 is the approximation from below of 3.11 to 3 decimal places; and 1.764 is the approximation from above of 3.11 to 3 decimal places.
