Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Converting the dimensions in the same unit

We know that 1m=100cm

So, 1cm=1100m

25cm=25100m

=0.25m

It is given that, length of the cloth=2m

Breadth of the cloth=1m25cm

=1m+0.25m 25cm=0.25m

=1.25m

Step 2: Finding the area of the piece of the cloth

We know that, area of rectangle =length × breadth

So, area of the piece of cloth=2m×1.25m

=2.5m2

Hence, area of the piece of cloth in meter square is 2.5m2
