Find the area of a sector of a circle of radius 28cm and central angle 45°.

Open in App
Solution

Find the area of sector of a circle

Angle subtended at center is 45°=π4

Total angle of a circle is 2π

Therefore the subtended angle is π4·12π=18 part of the circle.

The radius of the circle is 28cm.

Therefore the area of the circle is

=πr2=227·282=2464cm2

Therefore the area of 18th part of the circle is

=24648=308cm2

Hence, the required area of the sector of a circle is 308cm2
