Question

Find the area of a triangle if its sides are  $$9 cm , 12cm\ and\ 15cm $$

Solution

We know in triangle if the three sides are $$a,b,c$$ then the area of the triangle is

Area=$$\sqrt{s×(s-a) ×(s-b) ×(s-c)} $$

Where $$s=\dfrac{(a+b+c)}{2}$$

Given $$a=9,b=12,c=15$$

Therefore $$s=\dfrac{(9+12+15)}{2}=18$$

Therefore area $$=\sqrt{18×9×6×3}=54$$

So  the area of the triangle is $$54cm^2$$
