Solution

The correct option is C 7550 m2
The area of the pentagonal field,
ar(ABCDE)=ar(ABC)+ar(AFE)+ar(EFDH)+ar(DHC)

Area of ABC=12×base×height
=12×AC×BG[AC=AF+FG+GH+HC=50+50+40+30=170]
=12×170×50
=85×50
=4250 m2

Area of AFE=12×base×height
=12×FA×EF
=12×50×30
=50×15
=750 m2

Area of trapezium EFDH=12×(sum of parallel sides)×height
=12×(EF+DH)×HF[HF+HG+GF=50+40=90]
=12×(30+20)×90
=12×50×90
=50×45
=2250 m2

Area of DHC=12×base×height
=12×DH×CH
=12×20×30
=10×30
=300 m2
Therefore,
ar(ABCDE)=ar(ABC)+ar(AFE)+ar(EFDH)+ar(DHC)
=4250+750+2250+300
=7550 m2

Hence, the area of the pentagonal field is 7550 m2.
