Question

Find the area of region bounded by the triangle whose vertices are (2, 1), (0, 4) and (2, 3)

Open in App
Solution

We have,

A(x1,y1)=(2,1)

B(x2,y2)=(0,4)

C(x3,y3)=(2,3)

We know that,

Area of triangle

=|12[x1(y2y3)+x2(y3y1)+x3(y1y2)]|

=|12[2(43)+0(31)+2(14)]|

=|12[2×1+06]|

=|12(8)|

=|4|=4

Hence, this is the answer.
