Open in App
Solution

Answer :

Given : In right angled triangle with hypotenuse = 40 cm

And

One of its side be 24 cm

We know from Pythagoras theorem :

Hypotenuse 2 = Opposite 2 + Adjacent 2 , So

402 = 242 + Adjacent 2 ,

1600 = 576 + Adjacent 2 ,

Adjacent 2 = 1024

Adjacent 2 = 322

Adjacent = 32

So,

Other side of right angle triangle = 32 cm

We know in right angle triangle sides other than hypotenuse are perpendiculars to each other .

So , we can say one of it's side base of triangle = 24 cm

And

Height of triangle = 32 cm

And we know formula for area of triangle :

Area of triangle = 12× Base × Height

So,

Area of our given right angle triangle = 12× 24 × 32 = 12 × 32 = 384 cm2 ( Ans )
