Solution

The correct option is D 85.38 cm2
radius = diameter2
AO = AB2 = 102 = 5 cm
DP = CD2 = 62 = 3 cm

Area of shaded region
= Area of semicircle having radius AO + Area of semicircle having radius DP + Area of trapezium ABCD

Area of trapezium ABCD
= 12×(Sum of parallel sides)×height
= 12×(AB+CD)×OP
= 12×(10+6)×4
= 12×16×4 = 8×4 = 32 cm2

Area of semicircle = 12×πr2
area of semicircle having radius AO
= 12×πr2
= 12×3.14×52
= 12×3.14×25
= 39.25 cm2

Area of semicircle having radius DP
= 12×πr2
= 12×3.14×32
= 12×3.14×9
= 14.13 cm2

Area of shaded region
= 39.25 + 14.13 + 32 = 85.38 cm2
