Given: Diameter = 14 cm

Radius = r = diameter2 = 142 = 7 cm

Area of shaded region
= Area of square ABCD - Area of circle
= side2 - πr2
[Considering the value of π = 227]
= 142 - (227×72)
= 196 - (22×7)
= 196 - 154
= 42 cm2
