Given : AB=CD = 16 cm,
OP= diameter of circle = 14 cm
radius = $\frac{diameter}{2}$ = $\frac{14}{2}$ = 7 cm
Area of shaded region = Area of parallelogram - Area of circle

Area of parallelogram = base$\times$height
= CD$\times$OP
= 16$\times$14 = 224 $c{m}^2$

area of circle = $\pi$$r^2$
= $\frac{22}{7}$$\times$$7^2$
= $\frac{22}{7}$$\times$49 = 154 $c{m}^2$

Area of shaded region = 224 - 154 = 70 $c{m}^2$
