Length of rectangle = ABCD = 12 m

Area of the pathway ABCD = 12 m $\times$ 1.5 m = 18 $m^2$

Area of the pathway EFGH = 6 m $\times$ 1.5 m = 9 $m^2$ ​

Area (PQRS) = 1.5 m $\times$ 1.5 m = 2.25 $m^2$ (This area is taken twice)

Total area of pathway = Area (ABCD) + Area (EFGH) – Area (PQRS)

= (18 + 9 – 2.25) $m^2$ = 24.75 $m^2$

1 $m^2$ = 10000 $c{m}^2$
