To find the area of the given figure, we need to count the number of complete squares enclosed by the figure. Then, we have to count the more than half-filled squares as complete squares.
Also, we have to count the exactly half-filled squares and ignore the less than half-filled squares.
Now, Number of complete squares = 6
Number of more than half –filled squares = 0
Number of less than half-filled squares = 0
Number of half-filled squares = 4
So, Area of the given figure =6+12×4
=6+2
= 8 square units
