Solution

The correct option is D 223 m2
Area of field =
Area of DHC + Area of DIE
+ Area of AGF
+ Area of trapezium EIGF
+ Area of trapezium ABCH

Area of triangle = 12×base×height

Area of DHC = 12×HC×DH
= 12×10×(DI+IH) = 12×10×(5+4)
= 12×10×9 = 5×9 = 45 m2

Area of DIE = 12×IE×DI
= 12×10×5 = 5×5 = 25 m2

Area of AGF= 12×FG×AG
= 12×4×5 = 2×5 = 10 m2

Area of trapezium
= 12×(sum of parallel sides)×height

Area of trapezium EIGF
= 12×(EI+FG)×(IG)
= 12×(10+4)×(IH+HG)
= 12×14×(4+5) = 7×9
= 63 m2

Area of trapezium ABCH
= 12×(HC+AB)×(AH)
= 12×(10+6)×(GH+AG)
= 12×16×(5+5) = 12×16×10 = 8×10
= 80 m2

Area of field = 45+25+10+63+80
= 223 m2
