Question

Find the area of the sector of a circle of radius 5 cm, if the corresponding arc length is 3.5 cm.

Open in App
Solution

Given radius(r) = 5cm
arc length(l)=3.5cm
We know, l=r(x) where x is angle subtended by sector
So, 3.5=5(x)
x=0.7
Area of sector=θ360 x (area of circle with corresponding radius)

=0.7360 x (3.14 x 25)
=0.1526 cm2
