$\therefore$ area of shaded portion is

$ar\left(ABCD\right)-ar\left(AOC\right)-ar\left(BOD\right)$

$\Rightarrow (4\times 4)-\frac{\pi \left(2^2\right)}{2}-\frac{\left(\pi \right)2^2}{2}$

$\Rightarrow 16-4\pi =3-44c{m}^2$
